These five elements or creations are symbolized by Sijou tree (Euphorbia splenden) because the tree could live anywhere. That is why according to the belief of Bathou religion, praying nearby and facing the Sijou tree means Praying to Bathoubrai (God).

As every religion of the world has its own unique philosophy, so too, Bathou religion has also its own unique philosophy. The philosophy of Bathou religion is the philosophy taken from the word 'Ba', means five. 'Ba'(5) Santhou(philosophy) > Ba Santhou > Bathou (Philosophy of five). Since Bathou (the philosophy of five) is the created by the amalgamated word in Bodo language, the religion of Bodo is called Bathou. It is the religion of the bodos and it gives the meaning of two amalgamated words Ba (five) and gwtou(deep thought) or philosophy.

(बे मोनबा गुदिमुवा एबा सोरजिथाइफोरखौ सिजौ बिफां (Euphorbia splenden) जों दिन्थिनाय जायो मानोना बेयो जेरावबो रज'नो हायो। बाथौनि धोरोमारि फोथायनाय बादिब्ला सिजौ बिफांनि खाथियाव मोखां मोखां जानानै आरज गाबनायखौ बाथुब्राइ (इसोर) नि खाथियाव आरज गाबनायखौ मानिनाय जायो । जेरै बुहुमनि मोनफ्रोमबो धोरोमानो गावबा गावनि आलादा सानथौ दं, बे बादिनो बाथौ धोरोमाबो मोनसे एखुथा सानथौ दं। बाथौनि सानथौआ 'बा' सोदोबनिफ्राय फैदों, जायनि ओंथिया बा । 'बा' (बा) आ 'सान्थौ' (सानथौ) जों ज' जानानै 'बा सान्थौ' सोमजियो जाय 'बाथौ' (मोनबा सानथौ) जायो। मानोना 'बाथौ' (मोनबा सानथौ) खौ बर' रावनि मोनसे गोरोबनाय सोदोबनिफ्राय लानाय जादों, बेनिखायनो बर' सुबुंफोरनि धोरोमखौ बाथौ बुंनाय जायो। बेयो बर'फोरनि धोरोम आरो बेयो मोननै जथाइ सोदोबनि ओंथियाव बिथा खालामजानाय: 'बा' (बा) आरो 'गोथौ' (गोथौ सानस्रि एबा सानथौ)। जि बोसोरनिफ्रायनो बर'नि धोरोमनि सोमोन्दै माखासे बिथाई एबा आर'जफोरा फोलेरनिफ्राय फोलेरसिम खुगाजों सोलिबोगासिनो दं। बे बिथाई (आरज गाबनाय) फोरा जोंखौ बर'नि धोरोम आरो सानथौनि सोमोन्दै गोनां खारिथि होयो ।)
